About Ronda Knowles
Ronda was born and raised in Atlantic Canada and completed her undergraduate degrees at both the University of Prince Edward Island and Université Laval. She began her career in the late 1980's as a high school French Immersion teacher in Eastern Canada. Ronda moved to Calgary in 1991, completed graduate school from 1993-95, and began a 33 year career within public education. Ronda has amassed a broad knowledge base spanning decades as she worked extensively within a leadership capacity as a bilingual teacher, counsellor and learning strategist. Developing and implementing varied programs in support of helping students and families thrive within a myriad of educational setting has had Ronda bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise for families with whom she works.

Ronda became a registered psychologist in 2005, at which time she began her her work within a private psychological practice. She has been a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and The Canadian Psychological Association throughout her career as a psychologist. This work has included educational contracts with private educational institutions in Alberta and Québec, and public English and Francophone school divisions within the province of Alberta. Therapeutically, and with warmth and compassion, Ronda additionally works with clients seeking support towards optimal personal health and psychological wellness within varied life transitions, addictions, self-esteem enhancement, resiliency growth and stress reduction and mind/body awareness patterns of response. Therapeutic treatment methods are primarily influenced within Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy perspectives and techniques. Helping clients create individualized self-care vision boards is an area of specific professional focus for Ronda.
Ronda is the proud mother of 2 grown children with whom she loves to spend time. When not professionally engaged, Ronda enjoys Pilates and Yoga (is a RYT 200 instructor, 2020/ therapeutic Yin yoga certification, level 1, 2022), meditates, loves hiking and nature and is an avid downhill skier. She loves woodworking, cooking (certificate in Food, Nutrition and Health, 2023), music, travelling and is a hockey fan. Ronda loves to read and is a published author of a historical fiction novel (Braids of Time, 2014, Borealis Press). She is currently working on her second novel.
